Here is a little known tool that can allow a traditional (read, PC based) IT Helpdesk remote support Macintosh OSX users.
1. Download UltraVNC 1.05 (or newer) and install the VNC viewer. This version works well on both Vista and Server 2008.
2. Click the UltraVNC icon to launch the application. From the connection screen select the Options button.
3. From the Options screen, select Hextile for the encoding, press the OK button.
4. Back on the connection screen, click the Connect button. Enter the proper credentials. You can save this connection as a shortcut (CTRL+ALT+F5).
(Remember that VNC must first be enabled on the Mac OSX machine)
